My client is a producer of Natural Ingredients and formulations derived from plants and microalgae, predominately for the cosmetics, food and beverage and supplements sectors. They serve local, international, and global clients, with offices in China, USA, Switzerland, Hong Kong, and Japan. Their operations are mainly located in China and with partners in Europe, Japan and USA. They spend 5% of their revenues on research & development including technical and clinical projects.
The Sales Manager will develop and execute sales and marketing activities for their range of ingredients for the food and beverage, supplements and cosmetics sectors, in the Northern European Region (Inc Germany, France, UK, The Netherlands). The Sales Manager will acquire new clients and grow the relationship with existing clients to support the growth targets of the regional office as well as the entire group. As a member of the sales team, you will grow market positioning and market share by building strategic relationships in the nutrition, supplements, cosmetic and food ingredient marketplaces.

* Build long-term successful relationships with your customers within the food ingredients, supplements and cosmetics sectors
* Represent the company effectively and have a comprehensive knowledge of Natural Ingredients, extracts and vitamins
* Understand the market trends and clients’ needs to develop unique value propositions and be a guide for innovation strategy and continuous improvement.
Main responsibilities and tasks
* Create and execute annual work plans that maintain and expand the client base and related business for Natural Ingredients within food and beverage, supplements and cosmetics.
* With the work plan achieve the businesses ambitious annual sales targets
* Identify lead opportunities as well as potential to cross sale and grow volumes.
* Represent the brand in a professional manner that results in sustainable sale.
* Develop and use marketing tools, organize representation at important events and trade shows.
* Build trusted, performance driven relationships with clients enabling them to be successful in their market and generate profitable growth.
Required skills and qualifications
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the sale of ingredients to the food and beverage, supplements, nutraceuticals, or cosmetics sectors.
* Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills
* Intrinsic drive to conclude new deals and develop long term relationships.
* Structured approach to market analysis, account management and financial success (sales, profit, cash flow)
* Solid technical, product and industry knowledge within the ingredients sector, allowing collaboration with technical as well as commercial partners.
* Professional language skills in English and German is a must, French highly appreciated
Ambition and mindset
* Intrinsic drive to conclude new deals and develop long term relationships.
* Willingness to spend minimum 50% of the time visiting and meeting clients within Northern Europe, inc Germany, France, The Netherlands and the UK.
* This role will be home based and you can live in Germany, UK, France, The Netherlands or other Northern European locations
