Job: Student Behaviour Mentor
Salary: GBP90-100 per day
Location: Bexley
The school has just over 1000 students, and prides itself on being an inclusive and welcoming environment. Your role as a Behaviour Mentor will be integral in supporting the school in their continuous improvement plans, where truancy has been highlighted as an issue the school wish to address.
Responsibilities:
- Truancy Support: Work closely with students who are truanting, understanding the underlying issues, and implementing strategies to improve attendance in lessons.
- Behavioural Intervention: Provide guidance and support to students exhibiting behavioural challenges during class, helping them develop positive coping mechanisms.
- Mentorship: Establish meaningful connections with students, offering a safe space for open communication.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to create a holistic support system for each student.
Requirements:
- Passion for working with young people and helping them overcome challenges.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Empathy and understanding of diverse student needs.
- Ability to learn, and implement effective strategies for behaviour management.
- DBS on the update service (This can be arranged through Tradewind)
