School Caretaker

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our team as a School Caretaker and Key Holder. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors, while also taking responsibility as a key holder for the school premises.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conducting daily inspections of the school premises to identify any maintenance or safety issues.
• Performing routine maintenance tasks such as repairing fixtures, fittings, and equipment.
• Ensuring that heating, lighting, and security systems are in good working order.
• Cleaning and tidying classrooms, corridors, offices, and other communal areas.
• Managing the school's waste disposal and recycling systems.
• Assisting with the setup and take down of furniture and equipment for school events and activities.
• Responding promptly to emergencies or security concerns outside of regular working hours.
• Serving as a key holder for the school premises, responsible for opening and closing facilities as needed.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Previous experience in a caretaking or facilities management role preferred.
• Basic knowledge of maintenance and repair techniques.
• Ability to prioritise tasks and work efficiently with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to interact positively with students, staff, and visitors.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Physical stamina and ability to lift/move heavy objects.
• Trustworthy and responsible demeanor for handling key holder responsibilities.
