Temporary School Meals Supervisor

Salary Grade B scp 3 – 4 – Actual Salary £4,496 - £4,570 per annum

Contract 8.75 hours per week

Hours 11.45am to 1.30pm

REQUIRED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE

The Governors of St Columba’s Catholic Primary School are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and caring Midday Supervisor to work with our children. The main duties are to help create an atmosphere so that the mealtime and lunchtime play is a pleasant experience for the children; to take children who have minor accidents for first aid where necessary, and if first aid is not necessary, comforting and reassuring them. The position is initially for one year.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has the ability to relate well to children and adults
• Can establish a good rapport with the children in your care
• Has the ability to organise activities and play games with children
• Can listen to and communicate effectively with children using clear English
• Has a caring disposition and the ability to tend to and comfort sick/hurt children
• Be flexible, motivated and able to follow instructions and remain calm in difficult circumstances
• As well as being professional, be friendly, patient and understanding towards the pupils
• Can work constructively as part of a team
• Can mediate and resolve disagreements between children
