Our client is seeking a dedicated School Receptionist to be one of the first points of contact for the school for an ongoing assignment. The successful candidate will manage the reception area, ensure the security of the premises, and handle various administrative tasks with efficiency and attention to detail.
Day to Day of the role:
- Serve as a primary point of contact for all issues relating to the school reception.
- Monitor the reception area, ensuring the security of the premises and managing all external visitors.
- Maintain the visitor management system, keep records up to date, and administer staff ID badges.
- Answer telephone calls, take messages, and manage communications effectively.
- Oversee the Parent Pay system for school dinners, trips, and other expenses.
- Coordinate minibus bookings and transport arrangements for pupils, liaising with relevant parties.
- Collate and distribute weekly and termly certificates for assembly.
- Maintain pupil dinner registers, manage payments, and communicate with the Welfare team as needed.
- Update and communicate the Dinner Menu to parents/carers.
- Manage visitor parking and ensure the reception area displays and noticeboards are current.
- Maintain electronic and paper pupil records, including filing and housekeeping.
- Handle post administration and ensure the staff workrooms are well-stocked and maintained.
- Distribute information to staff and pupils, manage photocopying, and input data related to pupils.
- Provide cover for reception staff and undertake other tasks as directed by the Headteacher.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a receptionist or administrative role, preferably within an educational setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using school management systems such as SIMs and Parent Pay.
- Ability to multitask and prioritise in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- A friendly and professional demeanour.
