Based at Heywood, there will also be additional travelling to schools within Heywood/Rochdale when required
Hours:
36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8 am to 3.45 pm
Holiday: (if all year round, 24 days holidays, plus 8 bank holidays, this to be increased after 5 years of service.
Salary:
(Starting scale point is dependent on experience)
Actual salary if all year round £29,777 to £31,364
Actual salary if term time only £25,196 to £26,539
Process:

Screening and background checks and IT test to be carried out
Start date: May 2024 (or later deepening on notice period)

The Trust provides ICT Support to several local primary schools. The Trust’s core purpose is to make a positive difference to the lives of its children.
Its role as a sponsor of both schools is to provide the support, challenge, expertise and resources necessary to significantly improve the provision for education.
Criteria:
Essential - Qualifications
• Good standards of literacy and numeracy, GCSE Grade C in Maths and English or equivalent (Level 2)
• Willingness to complete appropriate training and professional development
• Minimum NQV Level 3 ICT related qualification
• Full driving licence and access to a vehicle to travel between sites
Desirable
• Relevant IT qualifications: CCNA, Comptia A+, Network +, Microsoft, etc
• Current IT vendor certification or ability to demonstrate equivalent experience
• ITIL qualification or willingness to complete
Skills and Experience
Essential
• Approachable with excellent communications and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work between multiple sites and from home, (remote assistance)
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience at Technician Level (or above) within an Educational environment
• Demonstrates a level of gravitas commensurate with the role
• Logical thinker and ability to act on own initiative
• Able to effectively prioritise own workload, manage that of the team and effectively motivate and lead your team
• Oversee implementation across a range of location
Proven track record in using development methodologies or recognised project management techniques to deliver successful ICT??developments.
• Proven experience in ensuring a safe, secure??and compliant ICT??environment
• Knowledge and experience in the Education sector or not for profit
• Able to relate well to both Staff and Students with a range of IT abilities
• Able to exercise??judgement and refer matters as necessary
• Creative approach leading to solution focused results with a passion for learning and development
• Experience of driving through effective change
• Energy, drive, enthusiasm and ideas for improving business results
• Flexible and open minded approach to completion of work
• Knowledge and experience of working with Google G Suite
• Knowledge and experience of working with MS Azure
• Experience of installation of hardware, software and peripherals
• VMHypervisor Experience HyperV
• Cisco/HP Switch management experience

• Experience of working at a Senior Technician level within an educational environment

Essential
• Understanding of the importance of safeguarding/child protection when working in a school setting
• Able to diagnose faults and find solutions to the problem, understanding the importance of adopting a logical approach to fault finding, working within codes of good practice
• Excellent organisation skills. Ability to lead and prioritise own workload, work as part of a team and work to deadlines
• Knowledge of working with current IT technologies including hardware and software
• Interest and ability in developing the staff within and beyond the team
• Able to communicate the realities and possibilities of ICT to non-technical audiences including Senior Leaders, managers and staff
• Ability to relate well to both Staff and Students with a range of IT abilities
• Knowledge and experience of working with the Microsoft product set, including but not limited to; servers and desktop operating systems, applications and applications suits and??Microsoft Office 365.
• Knowledge and experience of working with multiple ICT technologies including but not limited to; firewalls, web filters, antivirus and security suits, Wi-Fi, virtualisation, backup and restore both physical and cloud based.
• Ability to, from time to time, work outside normal working hours to participate in duties that are otherwise not indicated in your job description. For Example, supporting Open Evenings and other out of hours school events as and when required or to perform routine system upgrades and general maintenance.
