Job description

Oxford Brookes University is looking for a maternity cover Schools & Colleges Liaison Officer to work as part of the Access and Outreach Team. The post holder will liaise with Schools and Colleges to deliver sustained and intensive outreach projects for students from under-represented groups. They will contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of recruitment and widening participation strategies that meet the University’s aims and objectives for UK student recruitment, particularly increasing participation from under-represented groups as described in the Access and Participation Plan.  Overall Purpose of the post of Schools & Colleges Liaison Officer: Build and maintain strong relationships with staff at targeted Schools and Colleges. Plan and lead a range of activities for students from primary to Year 13, aimed at promoting higher education. Manage projects focused on student recruitment and widening participation, such as summer schools. Deliver educational workshops and presentations in Schools and Colleges to increase awareness of higher education opportunities at Oxford Brookes. Design activities that raise the aspirations and achievements of under-represented students.  Experience for the post of Schools & Colleges Liaison Officer: We are looking for candidates who have: Knowledge of student recruitment and widening participation in higher education. Experience organising educational events and activities. Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with diverse groups. Experience developing and leading workshops or presentations. Background in working within educational settings and with young people.
