Science Summer Intern - Caring for Collections

The Science Directorate of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew is looking for an enthusiastic intern to undertake an eight-week Summer Internship. You will receive training in key research skills from Kew’s leading experts and gain valuable practical and professional experience. You will also have access to Kew’s world-renowned collections of plants and fungi, its library and research facilities. Interns contribute to the research activities of a specific team, aligned with the Kew Science Strategy 2021-2025. You will be an undergraduate between your second and third year, or on an MSci and between your third and fourth year, or a recent graduate (within two years) having graduated between 2022 and 2024.

You’ll be able to demonstrate an interest in biodiversity, its sustainable use and conservation. You’ll also have an operating knowledge of word-processing, spreadsheet and/or database software together with experience of data collection and analysis and report writing. Equally important will be evidence of your ability to work as part of a team. Please see the project summary for more information.

The salary will be £21,499 per annum (pro rata).
