Role Overview: We are seeking a meticulous and dedicated Science Technician to join our dynamic science department. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our science teachers and students by providing technical assistance and ensuring the smooth operation of practical sessions. The ideal candidate will hold a COSHH certification and demonstrate a keen interest in laboratory safety and management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of materials and equipment for practical science lessons
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, particularly COSHH guidelines
- Maintenance and upkeep of laboratory equipment and resources
- Providing technical support during science experiments and demonstrations
- Assisting teachers and students during laboratory sessions
Requirements:
- COSHH certification is essential
- Previous experience working as a Science Technician in an educational setting is preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations pertaining to laboratory environments
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and support the needs of science faculty
