Job Description
We are seeking a talented and motivated computational chemist with expertise in quantum chemistry methods to join the Hybrid Intelligence team. You will lead the technical development on challenges in quantum chemistry and materials science and other projects, working closely with experienced AI, quantum computing and domain experts, software engineers and consultants. This role provides a unique opportunity to develop skills in emerging technologies, working with leading organisations across domains such as life sciences, consumer products, chemicals, and energy.
Responsibilities
• Engage client and partner organisations on business challenges relating to chemistry and materials and identify technical approaches.
• Lead the development of technical solutions in collaboration within multidisciplinary teams.
• Contribute to technical proposals at the intersection of modelling and simulation, AI, and quantum sciences.
• Proactively keep up-to-date at the cutting edge of emerging technologies related to solutions in chemistry, AI, quantum computing.
• Provide technical leadership to more junior staff within project teams.
• Analyse and interpret computational results, communicate through discussions, reports and presentations to a range of different audiences.
Required Skills
• PhD in quantum chemistry or equivalent research experience.
• Experience in a range of computational methods, such as semi-empirical methods, density functional theory, molecular dynamics and QM/MM methods, quantum algorithms and machine learning methods.
• Experience applying computational methods to a range of real-world challenges.
• Ability to pick up new technical areas and tackle novel problems.
• Professional development experience in one or more programming languages.
Desirable Skills
• Experience with machine learning concepts, methods and applications to scientific challenges
• Knowledge and experience of cheminformatics techniques.
• Experience in quantum algorithms and an interest in quantum computational techniques.
• Experience studying complex systems with multireference character.
