Screen Printer / Screen Technician / Studio Assistance

Main Duties

• 3rd Rail is one of London’s leading screen garment printing companies, and is currently looking for either an experienced printer or an entry level Print Assistant Role to join our vibrant London studio. This role will be suited to a recent graduate wanting to get an insight into the commercial t-shirt printing industry.Benefits include use of our sister studio 3rd Rail Print Space with a discounted material supply.The Role : Screen Printer / Print Technician / Assistant
• We are looking for a full time position but may also need part time applicants. Please enquire stating your intention. Your main roles will be dependent on experience, from printing to assisting all the production Screen Printers and aid the day to day running in a busy production environment. Tasks will include:Screen printing on manual and automatic carousels or training to gradually build experience
• General Studio maintenance including stock alerts/ screen archiving and stock taking.
• Assisting with the running of the automatic machine(s).
• Garment Organisation.
• Ink preparation.
• Machine set up and clean down.
• Equipment preparation cleaning and organisation.
• Screen Preparation / Reclaiming.

Skills and Experience Required

• A proactive and motivated approach.
• Screen printing experience, please specify.
• Preparing Inks for the printers, this will include working with different ink systems, pantone matching, stock control etc.
• Highly organised and able to multitask effectively and efficiently, including working to strict scheduling and deadlines.
• Screen Reclaiming – a brief understanding on the chemicals and cleaning of silk screens.
• Screen Stencil knowledge. Including a brief understanding of mesh counts , post-hardening and finishing.
• Inter departmental communication skills; screens, printers, despatch, prop man.
