Scrum Master
Hybrid – Swindon or London
Competitive Salary + Bonus
Reporting to – Senior Scrum Master
The Scrum Master I role is the start of an Agile career.
The Scrum Master role at Edenred PayTech closely follows the definition in the Scrum Guide. Additionally we ask our Scrum Masters to gain and practice skills from wider Agile disciplines such as Kanban, Disciplined Agile, and Better Value Sooner Safer Happier, as we realise that one-Scrum-size does not fit all team contexts.
The Scrum Master does not govern nor manage the Product Backlog for the team. This is done jointly by the Product Manager/Product Owner, and the team (via pulling work into the Sprint Backlog each sprint). The Scrum Master facilitates, and encourages such backlog grooming and refinement.
Importantly a key aspect of the Scrum Master’s role is to champion early detection and removal / mitigation of cross-team dependencies. Such can create bottlenecks, ie: constraints that left unresolved will slow throughput of value to zero.
The Scrum Master I role also has specific responsibility to undertake professional development, ie: self-learning about Agile and Scrum.
Lastly, the Scrum Master acts as enabler, and encourager, an enthusiast for Agile and agility across team and organisation to help deliver Better Value Sooner Safer Happier as part of Gift Wrapping Our Services
This is a hybrid position based in Swindon or London.
What you will be doing:
  • Performs the role of Scrum Master across at least one team as servant leader, facilitator, coach, mentor, impediment remover, and change agent, as defined in The Scrum Guide.
  • Adopts appropriate Agile frameworks, methods and techniques tailored to the context of the team.
  • Undertakes regular improvements via the retrospective techniques of inspect and adapt, agrees measurements and tracks progress towards improvement.
  • Personal development in Agile methods, practices, and frameworks.
  • Coaches and influences the Scrum Team in all areas of Scrum, such as defining and delivering sprint goals via sprint planning, review, and retrospective, cross-team collaboration, and dependency mitigation.
  • Proactively unblocks impediments impacting the Scrum Team.
  • Assists the Scrum Team in discovering and articulating Objectives and Key Results at the team level, aligned to Edenred PayTech OKRs.
  • Applies appropriate Agile Metrics to act as rapid feedback to the team.
  • Participates with wider Agile Team of Scrum Masters on core initiatives and Ways of Working improvements, and assists with the adoption of agile across the wider ER business.
This junior role is responsible equally for developing their personal Agile abilities, and championing Ways of Working (WoW) inside a Scrum team in Edenred PayTech. This, to enable the completion of Sprint Goals to deliver incremental customer value.
You will be a self-learner who rapidly expands their knowledge of Agile practices, frameworks, and techniques.
What we want from you:
  • You will be a self-learner who rapidly expands their knowledge of Agile practices, frameworks, and techniques.
  • You will ideally have a level 1 qualification in Agile such as PSM1, CSM, DASM, KMP, or ICP.
  • You will ideally have experience of working in an Agile iterative and/or incremental environment regularly solving problems and delivering value to customers.
Why PayTech?
We are a subsidiary of the Edenred group and leaders in prepaid solutions including banking, virtual cards, debit, credit, and prepaid processing.
As a PayTech employee you will get the support and structure that you need to enjoy your work and develop your career while doing what you love and making a difference in a fast-paced and innovative business.
