Hours: Monday - Friday 09:00 - 17:30 (Some flexibility may be required)
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 (DOE)
We are recruiting for one of the largest privately owned international freight forwarding companies that operate from 9 locations in the UK.
We seek a skilled Sea Freight Import Operator to join our clients dynamic team, organising international shipments by sea (LCL and FCL).
The ideal candidate will coordinate and manage the importation of Less than Container Loads (LCL) and Full Container Loads (FCL) shipments via Sea Freight. You must have a strong background in freight forwarding operations, with experience dealing with LCL & FCL Sea Freight Imports, import regulations and customs clearance procedures.
Your key responsibilities as a Sea Freight Import Operator:
- Complete start-to-finish import consignments via Sea Freight
- Responsible for the day-to-day running of allocated LCL & FCL import trades
- Global imports
- Create bookings from the origin
- Provide freight rates, quotes and pricing solutions for customers
- Liaise with overseas agents, shipping lines and various carriers
- Track and update shipment statues in the company's system and provide regular updates to clients
- Complete import customs entries via CDS
- Ensure compliance with import regulations and trade compliance laws
- Developing good working relationships with shipping lines, overseas agents, hauliers and our other branches
- Growing our prospect database
- Experience in other modes desirable
- Previous experience in quoting and operations of import ocean freight forwarding is essential
