Purpose of the role
Key responsibilities:
- You will need to ensure that waste bins, site signage, picnic and person benches are always clean and tidy - this will involve you cleaning these items and drying seating when wet.
- You will be required to interact with visitors and staff at all levels, you will answer questions whilst promoting high levels of customer care.
- You will ensure that ZSL's tools and equipment are kept in good order and report any faulty tools or equipment to their line management.
- You will be required to carry out some lifting, as there is potentially a large amount of manual handling required.
- You will work in a appointed area of the Zoo Grounds that you will look after on a weekly basis. You will report back to the person in charge at various times through out the day to receive knowledge and relay and discuss any issues you may come across during the working day.
- The post holder will also need to carry out other duties which are outside of their general duties. These may include assisting other ZSL departments. You will be given notice should any changes need to be made.
About You
- You should have GCSE (or equivalent) literacy and numeracy qualifications.
- You will demonstrate high standards of customer service to both staff and visitors.
- You will be able to use Microsoft Office applications and Windows operating systems.
- You hopefully will have past experience with cleaning, and deep cleaning.
- You will be happy working in all weathers.
- You will be available to work weekends and bank holidays.
