Sector Growth Officer - Manufacturing

We are working with a local authority in Doncaster to find a Sector Growth Officer.

Salary: £37,363 - £41,438 per annum

The role:

This role involves working in the economic development unit to lead Business Doncaster’s approach to the Manufacturing sector, driving the attraction of manufacturing businesses to Doncaster, and supporting the expansion of existing manufacturing businesses to deliver new investment and job creation.

The post holder will be responsible for generating major sector specific enquiries through proactive lead generation, professional enquiry handling, and working with key partners across central government and within the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority.

Key Duties:            

• Generating major sector specific enquiries through a proactive and systematic process of networking, direct contact to target companies and individuals, and attendance at appropriate marketing and other events on a UK basis as appropriate.
• Providing potential inward investors with a proactive and professional enquiry handling service, co-ordinating the input of internal and external partners as appropriate.
• Mapping out the manufacturing eco-system within Doncaster, identifying any strengths, gaps, and supply chain opportunities that can be used in a prepositional marketing campaign to further develop the sector in Doncaster.
• Leading on the organisation of tailored Business Doncaster forums and events for the manufacturing sector, encouraging sector collaboration and the provision of relevant support.

Experiences required:

• Excellent Communication and team building skills.
• Experience of working with businesses in the Manufacturing sector.
• Experienced in working and delivering outcomes related to inward investment and Economic development.
• Experience in delivering internal and external reports building.
• Influential with good negotiation skills.
