Job description
Are you interested in supporting the growth of world-leading and world-changing research at the University of Sheffield? We have an exciting opportunity in Research Partnerships and Innovation (RPI) for a highly motivated individual who thrives in a varied and collaborative working environment. This is an exciting time to join the department in the role of Research Growth Officer, supporting the Faculty of Science. The University has ambitious targets for research income to support its strategy for excellent research. Key components of this strategy are our response to the growing opportunities for solution focused funding that typically requires an interdisciplinary approach, growing research excellence and income through the targeting of new funding schemes and delivering capacity building activity to support the trajectory of early and established career researchers. You will work closely on key priorities for the Faculty of Science, with the nature of these priorities requiring a collaborative approach for instance across disciplines, faculties and other professional services. You will be part of the Research Growth team in RPI, in which there are several cross-cutting specialisms, but also have close ties to the faculty-based support team, who provide core support for faculty academics. You should be a strong communicator who would enjoy a collaborative role, and be comfortable with skills of negotiation, persuasion and influencing. We are committed to exploring flexible working opportunities which benefit the individual and the University. We’re one of the best not-for-profit organisations to work for in the UK. The University’s Total Reward Package includes a competitive salary, a generous Pension Scheme and annual leave entitlement, as well as access to a range of learning and development courses to support your personal and professional development. We build teams of people from different heritages and lifestyles from across the world, whose talent and contributions complement each other to greatest effect. We believe diversity in all its forms delivers greater impact through research, teaching and student experience.
