We are seeking an enthusiastic and versatile individual to join Imperial's Advancement Division as a Development Communications Coordinator. In this role, you will join a team dedicated to creating impactful communications across various platforms. Duties and responsibilities In this role, you will collaborate across the university, working closely with fundraising and communications peers, alongside academic staff and students. Crafting compelling fundraising proposals that describe to potential donors how their support can make a difference is a main focus of the role. To do this, you’ll need to be confident in speaking to academics and carrying out personal research, to understand the science involved and then transform your learning into persuasive and motivating text. You’ll also proactively manage the Giving website, with responsibility for editing and uploading written content, image curation, and adherence to content design, editorial style, and digital accessibility standards. You will also work with colleagues to keep donors updated on the impact of their giving by writing and designing impact reports featuring students and researchers who have benefited from their philanthropy. You’ll also be responsible for the development of an online library proposals and support cases, consistently refreshing content and ensuring awareness of the library among fundraising colleagues. Essential requirements To apply, you'll need a degree or equivalent work experience, with a minimum of two years in a communications, marketing, or copywriting role, showcasing your ability to write for various audiences, including the web and social media. We're interested in individuals who can apply their writing skills to proposal writing and donor communications within a higher education context. Demonstrated success in delivering communications within given briefs and deadlines, along with the capacity to structure information coherently, is important. A collaborative and flexible approach is crucial, as is being able to work well as part of a team and respond positively to colleague feedback. In this role, you'll often be writing about science and how it can help to address challenges from climate change to vaccine discovery, so we're looking for someone who is curious about the natural world and willing to do some background reading to really get to grips with the issues at stake. You'll also need strong organisational skills, including the ability to plan work independently, manage competing priorities, and have meticulous attention to detail. Further information This post is full-time and will be offered on an open-ended contract. This position will be hybrid, based at Imperial’s South Kensington Campus, with an expectation that 40­%–60% of time on site.
