You will be working within the Government Vetting Team alongside nine other employees. You will perform background checks, also known as vetting, and support with the screening process for our employees and individuals that we will be looking to work with. No experience is necessary, what we ask is that you have a passion for learning, with energy and drive to get things done.

Your working pattern will be made up of two shifts. The first will be 0800 to 1630 Monday to Thursday which will be in the office. Then 0900 to 1730 on Fridays dedicated to your apprenticeship and this can be done from home.
What you’ll do
For the duration of your programme, you will be studying towards a Business Administration level 3 qualification. Throughout your apprenticeship, you will spend about 80% of your time in work and 20% to studying toward your qualification.
Work:
- Submitting new logs and sending new documents and requests to new candidates.
- Processing vetting applications in line with the relevant customer policy or Government requirements.
- Answer any queries promptly with a high level of customer service – either on email or telephone.
- Compiling Customer reports using excel and uploading them to our internal systems.
- Ensure that all systems/databases are updated in a timely and accurate manner.
- Working with discretion and confidentiality is imperative.
- Building a network across the business and maintaining key working relationships.
- Studying toward Level 3 Business Administration qualification
Study:
- Dedicate one day a week toward studying for your Business Administration Level 3 qualification.
- Be assigned a mentor throughout the programme.
- Attend online workshops.
- Complete a work-based project throughout the course.
- Assessments will include a Knowledge test, a portfolio- based interview and a project presentation.
What you’ll need
- You will need to have achieved GCSE’s in Maths, English Language GCSE grade 4/ C or above. If you do not hold these grades in both English and Maths, we can support you to gain this by the time you complete your apprenticeship.
- You have a good eye for detail and you enjoy working as part of a team.
- You’ll need to have communication and organisation skills and a desire to not only learn but to achieve!
- You should be confident in using computer software including Microsoft Office
Please note that for successful applicants, offers will be conditional on passing additional eligibility checks with our training provider which will include a Maths and English assessment and a review of any previous qualifications you hold. Due to the funding requirements of the apprenticeship, applicants must not already hold a business administration level 3 standard, GNVQ, BTEC or equivalent qualification to be eligible for this programme.
