AddressWe are seeking to appoint an experienced IT Security Engineer to further support our central IT Infrastructure and IT Security team. Working closely with our department lead you will safeguard the organisation's computer networks and systems. Plan and carry out security measures to monitor and protect sensitive data and systems from infiltration and cyber-attacks.
Ideally you will have worked within a large company environment previously as within an IT Security Engineer role. preferably manufacturing but not essential.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for educating the workforce on information security through training and building awareness.
Threat modelling, mitigation, validation, including software and hardware penetration testing.
Work with all functions of the IT department to design security into the system and drive security reviews.
Develop tools to assist in modelling, analysis, detection, and prevention of security threats.
Secure the system while ensuring ease of use for the user and network operations.
Stay current on industry developments affecting security and privacy policy.
Implement security measures, plans and polices to resolve vulnerabilities, mitigate risks and recommend security changes to system or system components as needed.
Ensure all back up and disaster recovery solutions are in place and functional.
Server and application patching and security product maintenance.
IT hardware and software asset management - including polices that govern its disposal.
Responsible for incident response activities from inception to remediation.
Organise and evaluate regular internal and external vulnerability scans with the aid of our 3rd party providers\internal scanning tools.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Advanced administration of Group Policy and AD.
Working knowledge of Windows server OS.
Experience of virtualisation technologies.
Firewall administration and configuration.
Network switch configuration, preferably HP A and E series\Aruba switches.
Good understanding of Backup solutions.
Good Understanding of a wide range of security products such as;
IDS/IPS
DLP
EDR\XDR
NGAV
NDR
Cloud security solutions.
