This role is based at Armstrong Works, Scotswood Road, the factory covers 33,000m² of space with multiple businesses occupying the site.

About the Role:

As a vital member of our security team, the Security Guards at Armstrong Works play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and secure environment on-site. The primary responsibilities include overseeing site security, promptly addressing issues, managing access control, conducting patrols, monitoring CCTV, and responding to incidents. This role requires a proactive and solution-oriented approach to ensure the well-being of all personnel and assets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and maintain the overall security of the Armstrong Works site
• Conduct regular high profile patrols to provide a visible deterrent and reassurance
• Enforce gatehouse procedures and control access for staff, visitors, and contractors
• Raise and communicate any security issues or problems to the team leader promptly
• Collaborate with team members to solve day-to-day operational issues
• Answer telephone calls, signpost inquiries appropriately, and maintain effective communication
• Take responsibility for monitoring CCTV systems
• Coordinate an appropriate response to potential security incidents as required
• Manage or assist in the resolution of security incidents in a calm and professional manner
• Adhere to Security Assignment instructions and carry out duties accordingly

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• Familiarity with gatehouse procedures
• Knowledge of security systems, equipment, policies, and procedures
• Familiarity with administration systems (Word, Excel)
• SIA Approved (desirable, training provided if required)
• First Aid trained (desirable, training provided if required)
• SC clearance (to be sought as part of employment requirements)
• CCTV license (desirable, training provided if required)
• Full UK driving license (desirable)
• Conflict Management Training (training provided)

Hours:

• 4 days, 4 off, 4 nights, 4 off rotation
• 12 hour shifts
• Approx 42 hours per week

As a defence contractor, we have a number of security obligations placed upon the company, which means that all our staff must be able to successfully achieve the relevant security clearances.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
