AddressUSSG is currently recruiting for a gatehouse Security Officer to join our team working within the Glasgow area.
Shift pattern:
Week 1: Monday to Friday dayshift from 0600 to 1800
Week 2: Monday to Friday dayshift from 0600 to 1800
Week 3: Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday nightshift from 1800 to 0600
Week 4: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nightshift from 1800 to 0600 and Saturday, Sunday dayshift from 0600 to 1800
Responsibilities:
- Officer is required for gatehouse controlling fleet movements with some foot patrolling during the day shift
- Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises
- Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences
- Call police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or the presence of unauthorized persons
- Circulate among visitors, patrons, or employees to preserve order and protect property
- Answer alarms and investigate disturbances
- Monitor and operate CCTV cameras and surveillance systems
- Perform first aid or CPR if necessary
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with security procedures
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Proven work experience as a Security Officer or relevant position preferred
- Knowledge of legal guidelines for area security and public safety
- Familiarity with report writing
- Excellent surveillance and observation skills
- Ability to operate CCTV systems and other security equipment
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and effectively
- Good physical condition with the ability to stand, walk, or run for long periods
Skills:
- First aid/CPR certification preferred but not required
- Experience with CCTV systems and surveillance equipment is a plus
- Knowledge of loss prevention techniques is beneficial
