The Role:

I am working with a hotel located in Sint Maarten in the Dutch Caribbean and they are looking to join retired police men who have had police training and will be able to treat all guests with empathy and respect.

The role is not intended to be hands on, you will be working for 6 hours per day for 5 days per week.

Your job is to ensure a safe and secure environment for employees, visitors, and company assets.
The officer will monitor the premises on the security monitors, enforce security policies and procedures with your colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular patrols of the premises, including interior and exterior areas.
• Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems to detect and respond to unusual or suspicious activity.
• Ensure all access points, gates, and doors are secured.

Incident Response:

• Respond promptly to alarms and incidents, including emergencies, security breaches, and disturbances.
• Report and document incidents in a detailed and timely manner.

Access Control:

• Manage access to the facility by verifying identification and credentials of employees, visitors, and contractors.
• Maintain visitor logs and issue visitor badges as necessary.
• Enforce company policies regarding unauthorized access.

Customer Service:

• Provide directions and assistance to employees, visitors, and vendors.
• Address inquiries and concerns with professionalism and courtesy.
• Assist in conflict resolution and de-escalate situations when necessary.

Policy Enforcement:

• Enforce company security policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular checks to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
• Perform security audits and inspections as directed.

Reporting and Documentation:

• Prepare and submit daily activity reports, incident reports, and other required documentation.
• Maintain accurate records of security-related activities.
• Assist in investigations by providing detailed and accurate information.

Training and Development:

• Participate in ongoing training and development programs.
• Stay informed about new security technologies and practices.
• Assist in training new security personnel as required.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional qualifications in security or related field preferred.
• Proven experience as a police officer in The Netherlands.
• Knowledge of legal guidelines for area security and public safety.
• Familiarity with report writing and incident documentation.
• Proficiency in using security equipment and systems, including surveillance cameras, alarms, and access control systems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm and respond effectively in emergency situations.
• Valid security guard license and certification as required by local regulations.
• First aid and CPR certification preferred.

Work Environment:

• This position requires working in various environments, including both indoor and outdoor settings.
• The Security Officer must be prepared to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
