Help protect our organisation from cyber threats, join our Digital, Data and Technology team as a Security Operations Engineer!
We are currently seeking a Security Operations Engineer (Cyber) to provide proactive and reactive responses to cyber security threats; using industry leading tools and practices you will take the lead to ensure that the organisation has mitigations in place to protect from cyber threats.
What you’ll be doing
- You will protect our organisation by responding to cyber threats, incidents, and requests, taking ownership for high level cyber threats
- You’ll monitor and triage cyber security alerts and threats, owning notifications to ensure they are appropriately handled
- Take the lead with the Cyber Incident Management process for critical incidents related to the force’s systems and applications.
- Working with the Service Manager, you’ll help deliver the vision set out for the team, helping to develop new skills and enhance the team’s capabilities
The must haves
- In depth knowledge of Cyber Security best practices and trends.
- Able to investigate high-impact and complex problems, and make proposals for service improvements
- Ability to resolve single and cross-technology incidents independently and working with a team to resolve complex incidents.
- Experience mentoring and guiding team members to handle technical escalations or cyber threats and alerts.

Salary: £35,982 - £43,098
For part time hours the salary will be calculated on a pro-rata basis, this is based on the number of hours for the vacancy.
