SalarySeeking a highly qualified and dedicated Head of Computer Science in Surrey!
A leading Independent secondary school in Surrey is in search of a skilled and experienced teacher of Computer Science (ideally with leadership experience) to join and lead our team on a long-term, full-time and permanent basis from September 2024.
The successful candidate will be paid on the London Fringe scale (MPS-UPS) and will have the opportunity to work with a well-behaved student body and a highly experienced and professional team in IT department.
The school is situated in a desirable catchment area with good transport links and offers a manageable timetable, including ample PPA time and balanced teaching time for Computer Science. Teaching small classes of 5-15 students at a time aged 11-18 with mixed ability levels.
This is an outstanding opportunity for a dynamic teacher to lead a small supportive and successful department.
As Head of Department, you will be responsible for:
- Evaluating and monitoring student and teacher progress
- Collaborating with other teachers and department members
- Leading department meetings
- Advising and mentoring
To be considered for this position, you must have:
- A degree in Computer Science or related field
- QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
- A proven track record of teaching secondary Computer Science.
- Exceptional leadership, organisational and communication skills
- A genuine passion for teaching and a desire to inspire both teachers and students
- A valid DBS check
