Reed are working with a rapidly progressing and expanding special school for students with SEMH and SCLN, currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated SEMH SEND Teacher and Keyworker. This role is perfect for candidates with a passion for inclusive education and a breadth of experience working with young people. As a pastoral and curriculum keyworker, you will deliver a range of subject content and skills to a small group of young people, ensuring their success and well-being.
Day to Day of the role:
- Act as a pastoral and curriculum keyworker for a group of students within a nurture base model.
- Manage the delivery of literacy, numeracy, ICT, PSHE, LifeSkills, and Food to your keyworker group.
- Collaborate with Academy Subject Leads to implement and evaluate progress.
- Guide any Teaching Assistants accompanying the young people in the classroom.
- Work with other professionals, parents, and carers involved with a young person.
- Monitor attendance and achievement to maximise the young person’s chances of success.
- Engage young people appropriately, considering their SEMH/SCLN needs.
- Contribute to annual reviews and the development of the school.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- A well-qualified teacher, holding QTS (or equivalent) with the ability to teach Key Stage 2 - Key Stage 4.
- Experience in a specialised SEMH/SCLN setting is desirable.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to embrace change.
- Motivated to make a positive difference to students’ learning journeys.
- Passionate about students’ creative achievement, well-being, and personal development.
