Empowering Learning are currently recruiting for a Learning Support Assistant to work within a secondary School based in Redbridge supporting pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health). We are looking for a dynamic and adaptable Learning Support Assistant, that will be able to support pupils on a daily basis in the classroom. Some of the pupils you will be supporting will have various SEND needs, experience of supporting different needs would be desirable but not essential. You will play a key role in supporting the pupils with communication, learning, and independence, in a safe and inclusive environment to help their development.
Job Responsibilities
- Supporting pupils with SEMH
- Supervising pupil's behaviour
- Encourage and support the pupils learning and development
- Support social interaction
- Helping the teacher prepare for lessons and plan activities

Job Requirements
- Experience of support children or adults with SEMH
- Experience supporting children with learning difficulties or disabilities
- Strong communication skills
- Valid DBS registered with the online update service or be willing to apply for a new one
- Available 5 days a week
- Able to commit to 6-12 months or permanent
