We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for a Senior/Semi-Senior Accountant to join an esteemed accountancy practice located in the heart of York. This role offers a chance to be part of a dynamic team and to contribute significantly to the firm's continued success.
Responsibilities:
- Autonomous Account Preparation: Take ownership of preparing accounts for a diverse range of clients, including sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies. Work independently to ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
- Taxation Expertise: Proficiently prepare personal and corporation tax returns, demonstrating a thorough understanding of tax legislation and requirements. Ensure timely submission and compliance with tax obligations.
- VAT Returns and Bookkeeping Review: Review VAT returns and bookkeeping records to maintain accuracy and compliance. Provide guidance and support to junior team members to ensure quality and consistency in financial data management.
- Supervision and Mentorship: Provide supervision and mentorship to junior team members, offering guidance, support, and feedback to facilitate their professional development and growth.
Requirements:
- Practice Experience: Demonstrated experience working in an accountancy practice, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices. Previous experience in a similar role as a Senior or Semi-Senior Accountant is preferred.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for effectively interacting with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders. The ability to convey complex financial information clearly and concisely is crucial.
- Team Player: Capable of working collaboratively as part of a wider team, contributing positively to team dynamics and fostering a supportive work environment.
- Qualifications: Either qualified by experience or part qualified/qualified with ACA, ACCA, or AAT certifications. A solid foundation in accounting principles and practices is required to excel in this role.
Salary:
£30,000 - £35,000 depending on experience
