Semi Senior Bookkeeper

NXTGEN are working with a fantastic Chartered Accountants who are very successfully growing their Bury St Edmunds office and presence in Suffolk having made their mark in the Southern Region. They're looking for a Semi-Senior Bookkeeper to join their thriving and hard working team to support the management of their unique and exciting client portfolio. This exciting Semi-Senior Bookkeeper position is a rare opportunity for someone who is looking to work on large 'non traditional' clients whilst receiving 121 support from the Head of department, in order to develop their hands on experience and quality of service. The firm has gained their outstanding reputation for the quality service they provide to their clients and they pride themselves on offering bespoke solutions for complex Accounting and Bookkeeping needs, which is the main duties you'll support with.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support and manage on a unique portfolio of clients
• Prepare all bookkeeping tasks for your client portfolio in a timely manner
• Compile and file VAT returns, managing queries from HMRC
• Perform reconciliation's of bank statements
• Manage purchase and sales ledger duties for clients
• Collaborate with clients and support with their queries
• Undertake ad hoc tasks when needed

While possessing an AAT qualification (or its equivalent) would be advantageous, candidates with relevant bookkeeping experience or studying towards their AAT or ACCA/ACA would also be a good fit for this role. As a Semi-Senior Bookkeeper you'll require experience gained within an Accountancy pactice or outsourced finance setting. You should have also demonstrated proficiency in Xero and/or Quickbooks, along with strong Excel skills, is greatly preferred.
