We are seeking a creative and confident Tutor to teach on a small group basis with students who have a wide range of learning needs. The role is based in a supportive educational provision in Newport, catering to pupils unable to attend mainstream settings. This is an excellent opportunity for a Tutor who is passionate about making a difference and providing outstanding support to both pupils and staff.
Day to day of the role:
- Tutoring across the main curriculum for KS2 to KS4.
- Developing positive strategies to overcome difficulties and re-engage pupils with the curriculum.
- Managing the diverse ability levels of pupils, adapting and reassessing lesson plans to meet specific student needs.
- Providing a safe and positive learning environment.
- Maintaining order and discipline among students while promoting safety and compliance with school rules and guidance.
- Communicating regularly with parents, as well as working with staff who engage with the pupils, providing student progress reports and informing of requisite student discipline.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Must have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/PGCE).
- Experience in tutoring/education is essential, particularly with KS2/3/4 pupils.
- Strong knowledge of the British curriculum.
- Enhanced DBS on the update service.
- EWC registration.
- Experience working with ALN pupils with various social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
