Here at Five Education, we're working with a Special School based in the Swindon area, who are searching for new support staff to join their team. They're currently looking for multiple full-time classroom assistants to work 1:1 supporting students with SEND.
Responsibilities and duties:
- Support student participation in learning activities and modify methods if appropriate
- Provide written and verbal feedback on student responses to learning activities
- Supervise and provide specific support for students, ensuring their safety and access to all learning activities
- Establish constructive relationships with students and interact with them appropriately
- Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all students ensuring motivation and engagement
- Assist with the supervision of students out of lesson times, including before and after school and at lunch/break time
Essential Criteria:
- Have experience or passion for working with children with SEN
- Be flexible, proactive and patient
- Be nurturing and caring in your approaches
- Be able to communicate effectively within a team
- Have a Background in Education, Care, Psychology or Drama, as these are very transferable.
- Training or experience in non-verbal communication is preferred, but a willingness to learn is essential. For example Makaton, PECS

Pay: Five Education operates a PAYE payroll; this is the most transparent way to be paid with no hidden fees such as admin fees or employers'' NI. We are also proud to be an accredited Living Wage employer. Please note pay rate is for illustration and does include holiday pay.
