Do you have relevant experience in Teaching, school support, childcare or health and social care and have relevant experience?
Vision for Education is looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant worker to work with one of our partnership schools in the Leeds area.
You will be working with students who have a wide range of learning needs as well as complexed communication difficulties including Autism, Asperger’s Syndrome and associated behavioural and emotional difficulties. This school has many specialist facilities including a hydrotherapy pool and rebound room as well as specialist teaching areas for subjects: home technology, a multi-sensory room and ICT suite. The school is divided into three departments, each catering to the specific needs of it’s students. These are the Semi Formal Teaching and Learning Group, 14-19 Teaching and Learning Group and the Complex Communication & Autism Teaching and Learning Group.
The role of a SEN Teaching Assistant will be required to fulfil a range of duties including:
- 1:1 support with children from age 5-19.
- Provide calming and nurturing support for some of the most vulnerable students with EHCP's.
- Working with small groups of children providing intervention support.
- Working with children with a range of complex needs.
- Work collaboratively with other staff members.
The candidate we are looking for will have:
- A passion for working with children with a range of complex needs and learning disabilities.
- A passion for education and improving attainment for children with SEN.
- Provide a high standard of support for children with autism and SEN.
- The patience and care that is needed to support children with SEN.
- Can demonstrate confidence and flexibility in a dynamic work environment.
