Teach Plus are currently working with a 'Good' mainstream primary school located in Harrow who are seeking a SENCO to start in April 2024 until December 2024, potentially longer for the right candidate.
The school is a 2-form entry primary school that is passionate about inclusive education and believes that every child deserves to be in a school where they are supported.
The role would be overseeing approximately 8 pupils with EHCP plans and around 40 pupils with EHCP's. The school are able to offer flexible working hours, up to 15 hours per week, this can be spread across the week or worked on two working days.
As a SENCO you will be expected to:
- Manage the current caseloads, liaising with external agencies, parents and other members of SLT
- Provide students with the provision outlined in their EHCP or Statement of SEN, and that these are reviewed annually
- Be responsible for SEND administration
- Lead on Inclusion
- Identify the training needs of staff and coordinate relevant INSET and CPD
The ideal candidate will have:
- National SENCo award
- Previous teaching experience with a clear history of SEND
- Experience as a SENCO is desired, however, not essential
- Experience in raising or the desire to raise attainment in a challenging classroom environment
- Proven experience working or the desire to work successfully with students of all abilities
