Role Responsibility

An opportunity has arisen for a motivated and committed SEND Enquiries Officer to join our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) service.

You will be the first point of contact within the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) service for parents and carers, Integrated Children's Services (ICS), Education settings, and our multi-agency partners.  This will include monitoring and overseeing the timely, accurate and efficient response to requests for advice and information from the SEND service into the ICS Front Door, in relation to early help or social work involvement.

You will be expected to respond to emails, calls and requests promptly and accurately, and track responses to all incoming enquiries to ensure they are responded to and resolved in a timely way.

You will need to have some experience of working in a public, private or voluntary sector and a good understanding of current SEN legislation and its application within the context of Kent.

This post is considered by Kent County Council to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
