Salary: Group 6 – 10. £31,350 - £42,520 FTE (Dependant on skills and experience).
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Term time plus INSET, (45.4506 paid weeks)
Location: The postholder will be expected to visit schools across the Local
Authority and work from the SPT Office in Truro.

This is a critical role to compliment a successful, experienced and supportive team of specialist staff.
You will play a key operational role in the support and development of children and young people, working in partnership with education and intra-professional colleagues.
It will involve collaborating with a diverse range of schools, educational settings, and agencies, such as nurseries, primary/secondary schools, Special Schools and support services, in order to support staff, children and young people and their families. You will be working in close collaboration with other SEND services across Cornwall.
A strong focus of the work, will be supporting mainstream settings to achieve an ambitious entitlement for all learners – working alongside teachers to implement solution-based approaches to meet pupil need.
You will provide support to staff in schools and work as part of a team of specialists to ensure that a high level, joined up service is being provided, and that children and young people with SEND are being supported to fulfil their potential in the right way and in the right place.
You will work in partnership with educational settings to support children who may have special educational needs or disabilities, which includes providing training where required.
We are looking for somebody with significant experience of working with children in educational settings, delivering and overseeing the provision of services to individuals with special educational needs and disabilities.
You will also have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills
(QTLS) or be able to demonstrate significant SEN /Therapeutically advised knowledge, skills and have experience of supporting implementation into educational settings.
You will have experience of working with a range of different people, such as children, families, carers, teachers, schools and other social care services across Cornwall, so it is essential that you have excellent communication skills and the ability to build and sustain effective working relationships.
You must be knowledgeable on relevant legislation and child development, passionate about working with children and young people with SEND and committed to providing an exceptional service.
The SEND Advisor is a key role, and we are looking for somebody who can work flexible hours where required, to meet service needs. The work is varied with a range of challenges, but is also incredibly rewarding.
