This position is required for a September 2024 start. It is based in St Andrew’s Primary School, Cullompton, Mid Devon.

Due to the number of pupils in our school with SEND, we are seeking to appoint an experienced SENDCo with a proven track record of improving outcomes for pupils with SEND.
The successful applicant will need to demonstrate:
• Strong organisational, leadership and communication skills;
• The ability to build strong professional relationships;
• An ability to offer advice, support and motivation to children, staff and parents;
• The ability to lead and manage the school’s provision for pupils with SEND;
• Evidence of successful multi agency working;
• Their ability to deliver the best possible outcomes for all learners, and will preferably already hold, or be working towards, the National Professional SENDCo Qualification.
In order to support our families, the SENDCo will also have oversight and responsibility for the provision for vulnerable pupils and provide support for pupils displaying social, emotional and behavioural needs, working in partnership with staff, families/carers, professionals and pupils in a school context. Monitoring the support for pupils and staff, and working with families to support pupils’ behaviour and wellbeing, is a key part of this role.
The SENDCO is required to fulfil the essential elements of the person specification for this role and would be part of the senior leadership team. They would work alongside the Headteacher and an experienced Senior Team.
This role is not class-based, but will require the successful applicant to work alongside children and offer in-class support and guidance to teachers and support staff. The successful applicant will work as part of the Ventrus SEND Best Practice Network and would be joining a highly supportive network of Trust colleagues.
