Job Description:
Currently seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Accounts Assistant to join the team. As a Senior Accounts Assistant, you will play an integral role in supporting clients' financial needs and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a strong background in accounts to contribute to the success of a reputable firm.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts and tax returns for a range of clients
- Perform reconciliations of accounts and resolve any discrepancies
- Prepare and submit VAT returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations
- Provide support in the management of client accounts, including invoicing and credit control
- Assist with financial analysis and budgeting processes
- Support junior team members, providing guidance and training where necessary
- Keep up to date with changes in accounting standards and industry regulations
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Senior/Accounts Assistant or similar role within an accountancy firm
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping
- Proficient in using accounting software packages, such as Sage or Xero
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
