Hayley Group Limited has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and skilled Senior Accounts Assistant/Credit Controllerto join our well-established and experienced Accounts team based at our Mercury Buntingford branch. About the role:
As our Senior Accounts Assistant/Credit Controller, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving financial controls and processes for the Sales Ledger, along with looking to progress and support the Accounts Manager in their role, with the nominal ledger, payroll and reporting.
Working hours: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday
Key responsibilities as our Senior Accounts Assistant/Credit Controller will include:
- Credit management: establishing and maintaining credit limits based on credit risk analysis.
- Implementing and maintaining effective collection strategies to ensure timely payment.
- Escalating unresolved issues to senior management and initiating legal action when necessary.
- Collaborating with sales and branch to address customer queries and resolve issues impacting payments.
- Generating and analysing credit control reports to monitor key performance indicators.
- Providing regular updates to management on the status of customer accounts and highlighting potential risks.
- Submitting monthly meter readings, monitoring and analysing utility usage across the company, Import / Export administration, Fleet management.
Skills & Attributes we're looking for in our Senior Accounts Assistant/Credit Controller:
- A minimum of 3 years Accounting and Credit Control experience – essential.
- AAT or ICB qualifications – essential.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Proficient in the use of financial software and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
