Job description

We have a brilliant opportunity for a Senior Analyst to join us in our Environmental Sustainability team. You’ll support the embedding of environmental considerations across the business, including within balance sheet principles, strategy, and risk management. You will also procure quality data and analysis to support both risk management and emission reduction. This will include the responsibility to produce key MI and reporting. Our Environmental Sustainability team work flexibly and usually work in our Leeds based office on Tuesdays.

About the role

  • Support the management of climate and environmental regulatory expectations including; analysis and reporting of SS3/19 requirements, environmental disclosures, requirements under ESOS and finally horizon scanning to ensure new requirements are captured.

  • Produce Management Information (MI) and meeting packs to support the Society’s understanding and management of environmental matters.

  • Create and maintain carbon and nature calculators which align to Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG) and Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials (PCAF), and other best practice calculations as they emerge. This will include the Society’s carbon footprint calculator and Treasury asset emissions calculator.

  • Conduct analysis and reviews to support answering the Society’s environmental questions; this could be from waste management up to the composition of the mortgage portfolio.

  • Support managers and the Senior Manager within the team on technical environmental matters including setting of targets, and interpretating scenario analysis and stress tests.

  • Represent Environmental Sustainability on climate related matters across the Society.

About you

  • Experience in a role involving either sustainability management, data and analytics, or risk management.

  • Knowledge of governance processes employed within Financial Services, such as model risk, end user computing or basis of reporting.

  • Understanding of the impact climate change poses to a UK based Mortgage Lender.

  • Ability to interpret data sets, recognise tends and use them to present key findings.
