We are currently recruiting for a Senior Animal Technician to join our client based in Liverpool. Our client conduct research in infection diseases, veterinary science, ecology, and evolution to benefit people. They are offering a salary of £32,500 - £38,000 as well as great career progression.
As a Senior Animal Technician, you will be responsible for the operational management of the poultry research facility. You will be actively using your PIL license and hold the position of a Named Animal Care and Welfare Officer (NACWO).
Key Responsibilities:
- You will be responsible for supporting day-to-day management of the Poultry Research Unit, this includes animal husbandry and supporting the needs of the research projects
- Running the facility and delivering training to new and existing staff members
- Provide regular and routine introductions, demonstrating the use of the research facility and equipment to staff and students
- Provide mentoring, training, instruction and feedback to learns as part of the support provision
Job Requirements:
- Current PIL Holder
- Current Named Animal Care and Welfare Officer holder
- Previous experience working with poultry
- Experience supporting students/team members in a BSU
- IAT Level 3 or above
