We're seeking a future team member for the role of Financial Promotions Governance Executive to join our EMEA Regional Marketing team in BNY Mellon Investment Management. This role is located in London, HYBRID.
The primary purpose of this role is to undertake the review and approval of Financial Promotions and marketing materials supporting BNY Mellon Investment Management's UK intermediary business. Residing within BNY Mellon Investment Management's EMEA Regional Marketing team, this role represents a key element of the Marketing function's control framework. The holder of the role will be responsible for ensuring marketing communications issued to both professional and retail (end consumer) audiences are compliant with the FCA's financial promotion rules, Consumer Duty requirements and BNY Mellon Investment Management EMEA's (IM EMEA) marketing standards. In addition, the role holder will be responsible for the provision of advisory support to Marketing colleagues on governance matters relating to such communications.
In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:
- To undertake the review and approvals process for Financial Promotions and marketing materials to be issued to professional and retail (end consumer) audiences in the UK. In doing so, ensuring communications are compliant with the FCA financial promotion rules, BNY Mellon IM EMEA's marketing standards and, where applicable, Consumer Duty requirements.
- To provide advice on UK financial promotion compliance matters throughout the content creation process, enabling Marketing colleagues to create innovative and effective communications that are compliant across all mediums.
- To support the Head of EMEA Financial Promotions Marketing Governance in the development and delivery of training relating to EMEA financial promotion compliance requirements.
- To support the Head of EMEA Financial Promotions Marketing Governance in the maintenance of IM EMEA Regional Marketing policies, procedures, training materials, applications and checklists.
- To act as a key interface between the EMEA Regional Marketing team and EMEA Compliance teams to promote collaborative and effective ways of working.
- To support the implementation of new regulatory requirements for marketing materials to be issued in EMEA. In particular, those applicable to BNY Mellon Investment Management's UK intermediary business. This includes training Marketing colleagues on requirements, defining implementation plans, working with the relevant document owners to identify collateral impacted and tracking completion to plan.
Key outcomes:
- Success in this role will be demonstrated through all approved Financial Promotions meeting the relevant rules and regulatory standards. Furthermore, the role holder will be expected to demonstrate a truly collaborative attitude. This will include proactive engagement with Marketing colleagues to understand activities in plan and providing input and advice to enable the effective delivery of marketing campaigns in a regulated environment.
To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
- Prior experience working with Financial Promotions and knowledge of the UK rules and guidance in COBS, PERG and Consumer Duty
- Prior experience of marketing compliance and in particular the review and approval of fund communications within investment management or wealth management
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)
- Excellent attention to detail
- A strong team player and self-motivated
- Proven ability to work effectively to tight deadlines
- Capable of exercising sound judgement and good decision-making in managing risk
- Good organisational skills and self-discipline in managing priorities
- An understanding of the UK pension and retirement advice market is desirable but not essential
- Previous exposure to the rules and guidance in other European jurisdictions would be beneficial
- Intermediate ability on desktop applications such as Microsoft Office required
