The Client

My client is an established FTSE 250 financial services business, renowned for being a great place to work. Their head office is based in Solihull, Birmingham, with the successful candidate required to be on-site 2 days per week on average.

The Role

As a Senior BI Analyst, you will produce, analyse and interpret management information for use by all divisions across the business. You will work within the Business Analytics team, which is responsible for all data warehousing, reporting, analysing and pricing across the business. You will focus on delivering the Business Intelligence requirements to stakeholders across the business.

As a Senior BI Analyst, you will be solving reporting problems by extracting, analysing and interpreting data from a variety of sources and producing data visualisations allowing the end user to self-serve. You will also coach and mentor junior team members alongside the Business Intelligence Manager.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop automated solutions to assist the business in its operation, using Power BI, Excel and the Microsoft SQL Server suite of products.
• Design and build Power BI data models and use data engineering skills to transform and prepare data for use within the models.
• Analyse trends in the performance and behaviour of assets based on historical data.
• Production of regular reporting which supports activities, including operational strategies.
• Produce regular and ad-hoc reporting solutions as and when requested by business areas.
• Producing analysis and insight to understand customer trends and behaviours and identify potential regulatory impacts on assets.
• Provide recommendations to the business based on the results of the analysis undertaken.

Skills and Experience

• Previous experience in a BI Analyst or Developer position ideally in a senior capacity or hungry to develop.
• Strong background in SQL, Excel and Power BI
• Ability to analyse & understand complex datasets and interpret and present results in a clear and concise manner.
• Focus on using your own initiative and adopting a logical and systematic approach to work.
• Analytically focussed & detail conscious
• Any experience within the financial services industry would be great, but it is not essential.
