Field Sales Solutions have an exciting opportunity within our BI Department to join us as a Senior BI Developer.

• £40,000 p.a + benefits.
• 37.5 Hours Per Week
• Hybrid (1 Day Minimum Per Week in the Head Office in Thame, Oxfordshire.

What will you be doing?

The Senior BI Developer, as a part of the Business Intelligence team will be responsible for the planning, modelling, building and maintenance of data models and reporting based on multiple data sources and data integration projects.

This role will.

• Have a key voice in the future roadmap for the Microsoft BI stack and enterprise data management.
• Be the driving force behind new developments within the Microsoft BI Stack, PowerBI version release management and central company projects.
• Work alongside our existing BI Development Manager to share expertise to a team of BI Developers in best practices and development techniques.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business stakeholders, Data Managers (SQL Developers), and other team members to gather and analyse business requirements for BI (Business Intelligence) solutions.
• Design, develop, and implement interactive reports and dashboards using BI tools, including data modelling, data visualisation, and data integration.
• Create and maintain data models, data flows, and data pipelines to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various data sources into BI tools.
• Optimise BI reports and dashboards for performance and usability, including data refresh schedules, query optimisation, and report/dashboard design.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data integrity, data accuracy, and report/dashboard functionality.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to team members and business users on best practices for using BI tools, including data visualisation, data analysis, and report/dashboard development.
• Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to company BI tools.
• Communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and business users to understand requirements, provide updates, and deliver BI solutions that meet business needs.

What are we looking for in our Senior BI Developer?

Key Skills and Experience

• Proven experience as a BI Developer, with a strong understanding of Power BI features and functionalities.
• Highly skilled in data modelling, data visualisation, and data integration, including SQL databases, cloud data platforms and API’s

• Highly skilled in Power Query, Power Pivot & DAX for data transformation and modelling.
• Highly experienced in designing and developing interactive reports and dashboards using Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members, stakeholders, and business users.
• Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks to meet project deadlines.

Desirable Skills

• Understanding of database concepts including Data warehousing, and ETL processes.
• Knowledge of other business intelligence tools and technologies.
• Microsoft Power BI certification(s).
• Azure Services (Microsoft Power Platform /Data Factory/ Data Lake/ Storage)
