The role
As a Senior Bid Manager, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will lead a team engaged on an opportunity and on occasion, you may also manage a prequalification phase.

Day to day, you'll ensure the submission of winning bids by a small team of Bid Managers and Bid Co-ordinators - increasing frequently in competitive (as opposed to sole source) situations.

• Management and oversight of the full bidding process for growth on existing and new contracts with a specific focus on Naval Nuclear (NN) market sector
• Ability to deliver complex bids where required (>£100m)
• Manage the Naval Nuclear Bid Team including day to day, bid oversight on NN bids, including governance, solution development and bid production and updating of the business development pipeline tools
• Support in converting campaign/bid strategies into compliant bids for submission across new or existing countries but in core Babcock Nuclear capabilities

This role is full time - 36 hours and will be based on site at either Babcock Technology Centre or Devonport Royal Dockyard 2 days per week with hybrid working from home arrangements.

Essential experience of the Senior Bid Manager:

• Experienced in managing multi-disciplined teams on large complex programmes
• Knowledge of the end to end business winning process and management system but with particular emphasis on working experience of the Gate 3 to Gate 5 phase
• Experience of QDC/SSRO desirable
• Project management experience
• Sound understanding of partnering between Government/Agencies/Private industry

Qualifications for the Senior Bid Manager:

• Relevant degree or equivalent experience

Please note that this position is subject to enhanced national security vetting. The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements (this may include obtaining SC, NNPPI or Developed Vetting (DV) level of security clearances).
