Senior Biomedical Scientist (Band 7) – Biochemistry
This is an exciting opportunity for a well-motivated and enthusiastic senior Biomedical Scientist to support the development of the UKAS accredited South of Tyne Clinical Pathology Services Biochemistry Department. The post holder will contribute to the provision of the Biochemistry service across the three hospital sites; Gateshead, Sunderland and South Tyneside. The successful candidate must be committed to quality and improvement and posess the following qualities:

The necessary experience to undertake the challenging role
The department has state of the art equipment and technology and prides itself on being forward thinking and innovative. It also has a proven track record in staff training and development.
The successful candidate will be required to rotate across all laboratory sites and participate in the department’s shift pattern.

As part of the team the post holder will have developed knowledge, experience and competency in specialist Biochemistry diagnostic techniques and must have Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) State Registration. Registration enables the post-holder to work unsupervised. The post holder will be expected to further develop knowledge and skills of the specialist diagnostic techniques of theBiochemistry department.
The post will be on Gateshead Health NHS Trust terms and conditions of employment.
