Building Safety Manager (Fire Strategy and Delivery) implement and manage the approach to
Fire Safety, including the identification of
Building Safety risk, assessment and support decisions on key controls and risk mitigation and providing assurance buildings are safe for customers, including the procurement, implementation and quality assurance of an effective and risk-based program of Building safety inspections, fire risk assessments, intrusive surveys and managing day to day activities which impact on safety of our shared spaces and customer homes.
About youYou will have experience of successfully undertaking the role of (Competent Person) supporting the management of
Fire Safety and delivering effective services to large and diverse portfolio of mix tenure properties within the Housing or Health and Safety sector.

Applications may close before the deadline, so please apply early to avoid disappointment.Role requires you to:Act as the Deputy Group’s lead advisor for Fire Safety across all services, for the lifecycle of buildings, including acquisition, design and build, occupation, refurbishment, demolition and disposal, providing technical, procedural, specification and compliance guidance as required.Support Building Safety Manager implement our strategic approach to Fire Safety and Building Safety management and develop and implement supporting Fire Safety policy, operational management plans and procedures. Work in collaboration with appointed Building Safety Managers by supporting them in carrying out the day to day functions of ensuring that the building is safely managed, including assessment of risk, introduction of effective controls and remediation. provide advice to managers and staff to assist them in the fulfilment of their responsibilities and therefore organisational compliance with legislative requirements and where appropriate internal standards and best practice. Such advice should be pragmatic, presenting achievable options to eliminate or sufficiently mitigate risk.To support and provide advice to frontline workers in carrying out personal centered fire risk assessments (PCFRA) personal emergency evacuation plans (PEEPS) on residents identified as needing support in an evacuationTo investigate and report on all fire incidents and provide recommendations to improve Fire SafetyTo proactively identify and report any hazards that could cause imminent harm or injuryTo undertake thorough investigations in the event of a fire and identify root causes.Liaise with insurers and regulatory authorities on Fire Safety mattersTo identify appropriate preventative and protective Fire Safety measuresProvide Fire Safety reports where required to support site specific management arrangements to include application of fire hazard control measuresCarry out Fire Safety action plan and fire emergency plans where requiredDevelop key relationships with our Regulators, enforcement authorities and primary authority partnership, mitigating and monitoring enforcement actions, dealing with safety concerns and managing all communication. Leading approach to any improvement and enforcement actions relating to fire & structural safety and completing actions to mitigate any action against the organization. Where necessary, liaise with external enforcement agencies (fire/local authority) and support agencies to develop good working relationships.To ensure that the health and safety team are informed of enforcement visits; where appropriate attend such visits to assist in organisational compliance.Ensure residents understand evacuation plans and help with the communication of theseBe a key element of the decision making when considering ways to deliver work in a Fire Safety and meaningful wayTo assist in the development/continual improvement, implementation and review of Fire Safety related policies, procedures, manuals and/or Codes of Practice for procedural operations, systems or activities.To develop and maintain effective internal relationships creating a supporting and assisting attitude to foster and promote a positive risk management and safety...
