Senior Business Development Manager (SBDM)

An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead the sales activities of a new AI start-up, as a Senior Business Development Manager. Quik AI is a fully funded AI start-up, backed by a care corporate, that is about to launch its first product – Care Smart – to the market (launch date: June 24). Care Smart will provide AI driven support to care services when analysing trends in patient health or providing best practice guidance to frontline care workers.

We are looking to grow our own in-house team and believe the SBDM role is a perfect opportunity for people with sales experience, who are dynamic and can wear many hats to have a substantial impact on the business and super-charge their career prospects.

In this role, you will be in charge of driving sales of the Care Smart product. Care Smart is a volume product (£10 p/m, per user). You will be given contacts and access to sales channels and it will be the SBDM’s responsibility to prepare the outreach, sales campaigns, marketing campaigns, collateral and manage the after-care process. The Managing Director will provide strategic guidance and sign-off in these areas, as he knows the buyer landscape, though you will have to be able to produce customer-ready materials. There will be some after-care and customer support, which will be shared. We expect this will be light, as the product is designed to be scalable.

We are looking for individuals who are driven, ambitious and hardworking and want to push the company to a successful launch with a high-quality product. The right candidate must be confident in the dynamism of a start-up, and be an independent worker, as they will be reporting directly to the Managing Director, who will provide c.10 hours per week of support, once the SBDM has found their feet.

Experience / training

  • You need to have experience in software sales, though not necessarily AI sales
  • Ideally having run a business unit or team in this space before with an ability to lead marketing, sales teams and to interact with the tech team.
  • The successful candidate will lead the sales strategy and report weekly to the MD of the firm and have daily or every-other-day catch-ups
  • Be an independent worker
  • Be dynamic and willing to take on the varying roles that come with start-up environments (e.g. producing GDPR policies, tweaking website text with the web dev, suggesting product improvements, identifying new sales channels)
  • Solve customer/user issues
  • Ability to spot new business opportunities and quickly evaluate opportunities.
  • Cold Calling
  • Design presentations along with product/service demos
  • Manage online marketing channels with assistance from a marketing team (if required)
  • Conduct competitor research
  • Formal sales training preferred
  • Possess a valid driving license as occasional commuting trips to central London or other venues may be required

What we can offer

  • Extremely competitive Salary: 50-60k + OTE plus equity options after 1 year
