Salary: £36,000 - £50,000 (more DOE) plus bonus, company vehicle etc.
Senior Business Development Manager sought with proven sales experience in fencing, landscaping and building materials.
The position:
Working for one of the UKs leading fencing & landscaping suppliers supporting a cluster of branches across the Hampshire & West Sussex region.
As the Business Development Manager, you will take the lead on developing sales, proactively identifying and securing new business opportunities, and networking with existing and prospective clients to develop a clear understanding of their project pipelines and material needs.
As well as Business Development activities, you will be responsible for reporting market trends and competitor activity, which will be used, alongside customer spend patterns, to drive sales across all product categories.
As the Business Development Manager you'll spend most of your time out in the field visiting customers to understand and support their needs, no matter how big or small their project is. You will be an excellent communicator, with existing contacts from within the construction / building sector.
Due to the nature of the role you will have a full driving licence and be prepared to travel as and when required.
The person:
- Sales experience within the construction / building supplies sector
- Motivation and drive to secure and increase sales opportunities
- A proactive, enthusiastic approach and a 'customer first' attitude
- Ability to grow and maintain your network of contacts
- Ability to identify potential clients and the appropriate decision makers
- Ability to research and build relationships with new clients
- Plan approaches and pitches to develop proposals that speaks to the client's needs, concerns and objectives
- Participate in pricing
- Ability to handle objections by clarifying, emphasising and working through differences to a positive conclusion
- The ability to persuade or negotiate appropriately
- Self-motivated and target driven
- Disciplined and able to organise a busy schedule effectively
- Focussed and persistent with a will to win
- Relationship builder able to work effectively with colleagues to deliver excellent customer service
