This Senior Business Development Manager will be looking after the complex weapons areas across a number of our sites for our MoD delivery teams.

The role
As a Senior Business Development Manager, you'll have a role that is out of the ordinary, your role will be delivering engineering services and support to our complex weapon teams and helping grow and capture within this area.

Day-to-day, you'll be responsible for managing of a variety of business areas, and will be developing the relationships to help service complex weapons arms of our business more. You will also:

  • Lead the generation of business, translating business opportunities into profitable and VFM solutions.
  • Own an annual order intake of up to c£15M+ and collaborate with business units across a 3-5 year timeline to deliver growth.
  • Act as a Capture Manager of specific pursuits when required.
  • Coordinate and lead all review activities up to and including offer release. Maintain strong working relationship with relevant Delivery personnel to ensure that customer requirements continue to be met.
  • Accurately forecast orders and the associated revenue and Provide timely market intelligence;

This role is full time, 37 hours per week. It can be based at either Farnborough, Bristol, Malvern or Portsmouth with an adaptive working pattern. Travel within the UK and limited overseas travel; car allowance.

Essential experience of the Senior Business Development Manager

  • Must have a good understanding of developing relationship and capture in a defence space
  • The ability to manage large accounts and long term relationships with complex weapons
  • Have a very creative approach when it comes to developing business and relationships
  • Worked on high value and long term service agreements

Qualifications for the Senior Business Development Manager

  • Experience working at developing business in the defence space
  • Experience with bids and capture in essential
  • Someone who has complex weapon experience is desirable
