I am delighted to be supporting a Middlesbrough-based manufacturer on the appointment of a Senior Buyer to join them on a permanent basis.
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, you will be responsible for managing and leading a small purchasing team. You will ensure all procurement activities are in line with business requirements and lead work to drive cost savings across the business. As the Senior Buyer you will manage the inventory and stores and ensure raw material management inline with production schedules. You will lead and support a small team of Purchasing Assistants, who will manage the day-to-day purchasing and procurement administration.
This role is ideally suited to a candidate with a purchasing and buying background who is ready for the next step. You will have experience buying and purchasing commodities and raw materials within a manufacturing environment and ideally have some exposure to team management. You will have operated as a Buyer where you have managed the full end to end procurement and have a track record of driving cost savings.
