Jonathan Lee Recruitment is helping a collaborative company recruit a Engineering Senior Buyer, and the role comes with a salary of £45,000 and excellent benefits. The role is based on site, with an early finish on Fridays. No sponsorship for overseas candidates.
As a Senior Buyer, you will be responsible for cost-effective and timely delivery of products to technical and quality requirements for production and engineering projects. We are keen to hear from procurement professionals who have worked in a manufacturing and engineering environment, who have worked on projects from NPD to production.
In your first few weeks in this Senior Buyer role, you can expect to:
- Pro-actively review systems and procedures, making recommendations for improvement and implementing changes
- Align purchasing role activities to achieve operational objectives, time-lines and budgets
- Take the lead in securing quality suppliers of materials, components and indirect spend covering technical compliance, price, delivery and quality targets
- Manage suppliers to meet objectives related to cost, delivery performance, schedule, and quality.
- Have an appreciation and understanding of engineering drawings.
To apply for this Senior Buyer role, you will need previous manufacturing-based, technical purchasing experience, gained within the manufacturing engineering industry. You will also require the following:
- Track record in supplier management
- Track record of identifying and implementing continuous improvements
- Experience with ERP systems.
